Grigory Tulchinsky

Grigory Lvovich Tulchinsky was born on 3 August 1947 in Leningrad (now St Petersburg). Majoring in logic, he received his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from Leningrad State University. His PhD dissertation was titled “Logical-philosophical Analysis of the Semantics of Formalized Languages, while his senior doctoral thesis was called “The Legal and Value Nature of Knowing about Reality”.

Professor of the Higher School of Economics in St Petersburg, Grigory Tulchinsky is an Associate Member of the International Academy of Sciences and Higher Education and a Full Member of the Russian Academy of the Humanities. He holds the title of Honored Scientist of Russia awarded by the country’s president and often chairs academic councils that award PhD and postdoctoral degrees in philosophy and cultural studies.

Prof. Tulchinsky is an expert, lecturer, and publicist specializing in personal and cultural philosophy, the logic and methodology of science, social management and communications, and the Russian and Soviet spiritual experience. He is the author of over 380 publications including 27 books.
