Sakura Season

… Take in the scent of sakura - it soothes; admire the delicate pink foam of its blossoms - it distracts from the hustle and bustle; think about life, youth and beauty - they are as fleeting as the cherry primrose ... In the height of the tourist season, 10th Asian Conference on the Arts and Humanities ACAH2019 “Reclaiming the Future” took place in Japan’s capital Tokyo. The romance of gardens and parks created a special, constructive and yet businesslike atmosphere based on a ten-year-old track record of academic discussions that have traditionally brought together scholars and practitioners from Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. The participants of the anniversary forum, ACAH 2019 expressed sincere interest in the presentations of experts from the Planetary Development Institute. The presentations of professors Dmitry Gavra (St. Petersburg, Russia) and Aleksandr Bezgodov (Dubai, UAE) generated the most intense discussions. *

The innovative concept of the periodization of globalization and the original view of the globalist character of the anti-globalist movement proposed by the IPR experts in the framework of academic discussions significantly expand the possibilities of analyzing the prospects for the survival of our civilization and form scientifically-based proposals to combat the effects of modern aggressive consumer activities. The relevance of this topic is reflected in this quote from the Tokyo conference proceedings:

We live in a period characterised by rises in regionalism, nationalism and authoritarianism; a time of great global uncertainty and anxiety, as well as inequality and iniquity which both reflects and drives political divide, and undermines international systems of cooperation. Clashes of identities, beliefs and ideologies are evident in academia, media and the arts, contributing to a feeling that humanity is spiralling out of control; that our relationships with each other, as well as with the earth and environment, have never been worse.

The global issues research forum was organized by the Osaka Imperial University and the IAFOR International Academic Programs Development Center. It was headed by Joseph Haldane, Ph.D., University of London. In an interview with the journalists of the Planetary Project, he emphasized that this conference allowed leading specialists from various research schools and areas to unite efforts to develop optimal solutions to the problems of the modern world. The President of the International Academic Forum is confident that only by constantly reinterpreting their own experience, analyzing the past, and stimulating positive changes, people are able to return the future to which they look with hope and optimism. And the fact that the first anniversary of the Asian Conference on Arts & Humanities coincided with the main spring event of the Land of the Rising Sun is very symbolic. The sakura blossom is one of the most famous Japanese images in world culture. The transience of beauty and quick death serve as the reminder of the ephemeral nature of our life. Learning to love every moment of it is true human happiness.
