Discovery of the Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands are a British Overseas Territory in the West Indies. They comprise the three islands of Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. They are located in the north-western part of the Caribbean Sea, between Cuba and Jamaica (USA).

Today the Cayman Islands are a thriving offshore financial centre and tourist business is the foundation of the island’s economy. Every year total tourist arrivals exceeds 2 million. The islands are famous for the modern tourist infrastructure, beautiful white sand beaches and ideal conditions for underwater fishing, diving, sailing and surfing.
