There is a fundamental possibility for solving global problems, because humanity has now reached the civilisation level that enables it to maintain production growth in all sectors of the advancing economy without additional resources and energy. This means that humanity can live twice as well using twice fewer resources. The prominent scholars Ernst Ulrich von Weizsacker, Emory Block Lovins, L. Hunter Lovins expressed this opinion in their 1997 report to the Club of Rome. Systemic, centralised and co-ordinated measures to save the Earth and its life, including individual nations and humanity as a whole must be united under one concept. This would be alternative to unrestrained economic growth and one-sided development of the world economy favouring the richest nations, and implemented through such international institutions as the United Nations. The Planetary Project offers just this concept.
