The International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) was established in Stockholm on August 16, 1960 by the decision of the XI International Astronautical Congress. It was established under the professor Theodore von K?rm?n’s direction, a famous scientist in the field of rocketry and aerodynamics. The Academy holds scientists from more than 75 countries across the world. Uniting the best experts in the field of astronautics, the Academy has gained international fame and prestige as an organization framed to guide modern space exploration. The development of astronautics for peaceful purposes, support for individual researchers working in the fields of science and technology related to astronautics, an international cooperation programs aimed at expanding aerospace research are the main areas of Academy’s work.
