International Holocaust Remembrance Day

International Holocaust Remembrance Day is an world day of honouring Holocaust victims. The UN General Assembly launched this observance day in 2005. It called upon member-states to develop and conduct awareness programmes for the Holocaust lessons to be remembered and to prevent acts of genocide in the future. Many countries have set up memorials and museums honouring Holocaust victims and hold memorial events on this day.
