Masatoshi Koshiba’s birthday

Japanese physicist Masatoshi Koshiba received a Nobel Prize in physics in 2002 for developing neutrino astronomy. He was born on 19 September 1926. Koshiba studied high energy space radiation and associated phenomena in the upper layers of the atmosphere. He provided first direct evidence for theories about the processes following the collapse of a star including the theory of neutrino cooling.
