World Sight Day

World Sight Day is celebrated on the second Thursday of October. Established by the World Health Organisation (WHO), this day raises public awareness of blindness, sight disorders and the treatment of people with impaired vision. It is also the central event of the global blindness prevention initiative Vision 2020: the Right to Sight run by the WHO and the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness.
