Mikhail Zalikhanov

Mikhail Chokkaevich Zalikhanov is an academic of Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Geographic Sciences, PhD in Biological Sciences, professor, political and social activist. He was standing at the origins of the Planetary Project together with A.V. Bezgodov from its very beginning in 2005. He is the author of preambles to monographs «Planetary Project: From Sustainable Development to Managed Harmony» and «Planetary Rent as an Instrument for Solving Global Problems».
Mikhail Chokkaevich Zalikhanov was born on the 22nd of June, 1939 in Kabardino-Balkariya. He graduated from Kabardino-Balkariyan State University. Since 1976 he is the leader of the Academy of Sciences` High-Mountain Geophysical Institute. The directions of his scientific activity are geology, ecology, geophysics, glaciology, physics of snow and snow avalanches.
M. Ch. Zalikhanov is the author of more than 300 scientific papers and 32 inventions; member of the Academy of Engineering sciences n.a. A.M. Prokhorov; Chairman of Supreme ecological Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, co-Chairman of the Coordination Council of the Russian ecological movement "EcoForum", a member of the UN senior Advisory Committee on natural disasters.
